I have a VIN plate in the door of my truck that has been painted heavily.
I started to clean the paint off and the VIN data started to come off as
well.
1) Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to clean off the paint without
cleaning off the info printed on the plate?
2) My registration says the vehicle number is LBA548850. I looked this up
on a website on Chevytrucks.org but it doesn't make sense. Is this the
VIN? If so, can someone help me decode it? It is supposed to be a 1953
1/2 ton (3100).
