Zack and Lyle--

I know this sounds like a tempting way to solve all your problems, but
it's not as easy as it may seem. The newer trucks are a bit wider,
especially at the front wheels. The frames are also quite different,
the 60s-and newer frames are not "flat" on top...they dip quite a bit
where the cab sits. What this means, is that the front wheels will not
fit under the fenders, and the body and bed will not sit on the frame
without doing quite a bit of work making cab mounts...even then, the
frame will hang down below the bottom of the truck body a bit in the
middle. Also, getting the bumpers, steering shaft, front sheetmetal,
etc lined up and working will take quite a bit of effort.

Please consider all this when making your decision...I think the
oletrucks wind up looking and working better with the original frame, if
all the mods are done carefully, and with plenty of planning.
