I once put soaked shoes in my wood stove.  Fluid was gone but linings became 
powdery.  Must have cooked out the resin binders.  I got professional help 
after that.
  Turn drums only amount necessary to clean them up.  Don't let lathe 
operator turn your drums into junk unless you have a lead on replacements.
