I was once told by a veteran racer that increasing compression means going
colder on the plugs. I think the rule of thumb was one heat range for every 2
points in compression increase, but this was when you could fill up with Sunoco
260 for about 50 cents a gallon. AC44 is also the recommended plug for the 302
GMC, I can't find them or AC43 either, so am using the Champion AC43
equivalent, I forget the number at the moment, which last forever with an HEI.

I see that the recommended plug for the 235, an AC 44 has been
obsoleted and a AC 43 is recommended by Napa in its place. The Motors
manual I have say's to use a AC 44 or 45. Which is better, the 43 or 45?
I'm running a '54 block with a '62 head, dual carbs and exhaust with a
mild Howard cam.
