Mike, If you are hot rodding your truck or don't mind a non stock
appearance, Hanks Welding makes a smooth firewall cover for 55-59 trucks.
It's made of 14 gauge steel and looks very nice. I'll be installing one on
the rod project. They're in CA and the phone # is (209) 748-2193   P.S.
Thanks to the folks who recommended them to me when I was asking about
custom replacement beds. They make the best I've seen and are very nice
