Hi all,
The new Chevy 3500HD trucks come with a straight axle in both 2wd and
4X4. They also have 10 lug wheels like the old 1-1/2 tons. I don't know
about spring perch width, but I could see one of these being useable
under a 1-1/2 or 2 ton with a little work.

The straight axle has been available on the P30 series since at least
1985 so it should be findable in a truck junkyard. I am not sure but I
think some of the earlier ones may have been 8 lug.
