Oh I know of that cable connection all to well. Your going to want forget
you ever saw that because it's very unsafe, transfers all road vibration
back to the steering wheel and is only really used in the circle tracks to
my knowledge "I don't know why they use it their if it's unsafe and not
recommended for the road"?
Stick to the Borgeson type of u-joints and the 3/4" or larger shafts.
