I was just reading about this today in my new Classic Trucks magazine. The
early F**d Pintos had this, and even they got rid of it after a while.
That should say something by itself. The net result was that the article
said don't do it, it's not safe. The steering cable is like a glorified
speedometer cable. Use shafts and u joints instead.
