want to add one other thing about oil pressure on 216 or 235s when i
bought my 50 3100, it had a 235 it ran great but the previous owner said
the bottom end was weak
sure enough, it soon started rattling, smoking and knocking i spent a
lot of money having the engine rebuilt when i got it back, the oil
pressure seemed very low come to find out, whoever installed to add on oil
filter screwed up the lines that they used were too large in inside
diameter it was causing the oil pressure to drop drastically we bypassed
the filter and the pressure gage maxed out now i have the correct lines on
it if i had know this i could have probably saved the original engine and
a couple grand hope this helps someone
