If it's a 235, make sure the bolts in the center of the head are out (I have
both a 216 & 235 & noticed that the 216 doesn't have bolts down the center
of the head). After you are sure all of the head bolts are out & the head
still appears stuck, try "lightly" wedging screwdrivers, or the like,
between the block & the head. I just removed the head off of my 235, after
it sat unrunning for at least 4-5 years, & I used an engine hoist to
leverage the head off of the block. If you are trying to lift the head off
the block by hand, remember they weigh around 100#.
