In the low altitude flat land of Kansas, I would think a 3.42:1's should be a
good choice. I plan on using my stock gearing of 4:11 in my 50 with a 261 and
OD, only because I live in a high altitude area. Even the stock gears and OD
would do you wonders for mileage and less noise. The T5 in my 57 made it an even
bigger joy to drive. At 3,000 rpm's, I was going 80 mph or a tad more!
