Is it possible that the rear brakes on my 50 1/2 ton do not use "hold down"
springs?
There is no hole in the backing plate? I did not find any old ones when I
removed the drum.
It has been suggested to me that the shoe "floats." Others say that there
has to be springs and have suggested drilling the backing plate.
The front brakes have hold down springs.
I am pretty sure that this is the original rear end.
I hope someone can help,
