The quote you got on dipping seems really high. I was given the number of
UnPaint in Atlanta, GA (404-755-3329) and the guy that gave me the number
says he is getting entire British roadsters dipped for $300-$400. That's
about the same size/amount of metal as a truck cab. I haven't called yet,
but maybe you should shop around some?
Something else he has told me that he used to sandblast his bodies and he'll
never go back.... dipping actually saves him money with all of the labor
saved.
No comment on galvanized metal and paint adhesion - I don't know anything
about that.
