Hey guys don't get me wrong, I've done Camaro, Pacer, Chrysler "K frame",
Mustang II, Monte Carlo and C10 subframes. I've customized stock I-beams
with mono leaf springs, C10 steering, disc brakes and power rack and pinion
steering.
I am not adverse to any; although the Pacer's and the Chrysler's were a
bitch. RB's has that cool kit for the subframe alternative (and I wished
they'd make it for the AD's but they don't). If you can afford to get it, it
would be the best sub-framing idea out there. Plus you could get everything
else off the donor car; i.e. rear, driveshaft, motor/trans..... I use the
harness and the steering column and seats... go for a higher end rot box to
get the better motor and trans, the SS and 442's had better rears, 3 series
chucks some posi's.
Got one out back I just sold with an AD 5 window, it was a high optioned LS
Monte with an SS rear in it.
The vette stuff is more exotic as the Jaguar I'm doing now is. I hope to
have a kit available for the AD's soon. Of all the re-works I've done the
Jag front is by far the easiest, and I'm engineering it as I go. The rear is
defined and all I have to do is get it fabricated (get off my sorry ass).
I'd like to tackle the vette next but I don't have a willing customer yet
(shhh! I do it out of my house on the side)

From everything I have read the Chevy 350 seems to be a
great choice. Maybe
this new info and your experience will help me get a good
match to look for.
