www.oldgmctrucks.com explains GMC VINs for 1988 to 1959.  If its a GMC that
should tell you.

If you go to www.oldsub.com/pics20020624.html you will see the inside of my
'55 GMC.  I've been told the instrument panels are very similar for later
trucks like yours.
