My 55 1st suburban does 12 to 13 with a 270 GMC six, granny gear 4-speed and
3.08 gears in my usual driving which is more than half highway commuting.
A 75 half-ton short box Chevy pickup I once owned got at least that around
town, and as good as 17 on the highway with a 350/350 turbo and a mild cam
(I think the gears were 3.70 but its been 15 years). My hope is that the
sub will do about the same when it gets a fresh 350 and automatic, but I
recognize I could be dreaming.
And when I'm dreaming the motor gets bigger and I'm sure the eventual actaul
mileage could reflect any decisions I make about that.
