Steve,

Here is a summary of your order dates, ship dates, and delivery dates. Keep
in mind that in your delivery zone UPS recommends about 4 Business Days of
transit time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
Order Placed 04/28/02 Shipped 04/29/02 Delivered on 05/03/03
1 item Backordered and shipped on 05/01/02

Order Placed on 08/25/02 Shipped on 08/26/02 Delivered on 08/30/02

Order Placed on 09/29/02 Shipped on 09/30/02 Delivered on 10/04/02

Order Placed on 11/25/02 Shipped on 11/27/02 Delivered on 12/05/02
(Shipping time longer due to Thanksgiving Holiday)

Order Placed on 12/08/02 Shipped on 12/10/02 Delivered on 12/16/02

Order Placed on 03/17/03 Shipped on 03/20/03 Delivered on 03/26/03
1 item Backordered and shipped on 04/24/03 (This was the order you spoke
about that had the die-cast truck on it, this is also our busiest month of the
year)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------

All in all I think we do a pretty good job of getting parts out in a timely
fashion. Although, there is room for improvement in most every aspect of our
company and we continually take strides to improve our business model.

We have over 10'000 parts that we stock here in our warehouse so you can
imagine the logistics of trying to keep everything in stock from each of our
Vendors. Out of the 31 items that you have ordered only two of them have been
on backorder. That is about a 90% fulfillment rate but we would like to be
around 94% or better. Again, something we are working towards and have gotten
much better at over the last year.

Shipping to your office is much easier for UPS. They don't really like
residential deliveries as much as they like Commercial addresses.

We do understand the limits of our online ordering and we are currently
evaluating products that will take care of the information side of the order
process as well as a more user friendly and functional site. This probably
won't be implemented until 4th quarter or 1st quarter of next year.

Thanks,

Robert

Robert it's seemed typical that if I order over a weekend, I'm not notified
that parts shipped until Tuesday or Wednesday, and I don't get them until the
following week. While I've not kept a log of each order and when it arrived
I'm pretty sure you'll see a similar pattern. I don't remember an exception,
but I'll admit the ontime delivery would not be as memorable.

On my last order I added an impulse item (die-cast truck) and several days
later learned that the entire order was waiting for that item. Your online
order system doesn't do a good job of telling a customer what's going on, and
after that last order I promised myself I would not use it again.

I've probably used steve@oldsub.com as my email on all orders, but might have
used steve@dotcomgeeks.com instead once or twice. I've shipped to two
different zip codes, 98110 and 98370. 98370 is my office, and I seem to have
fewer delivery problems if I use that address, though I don't recall a
delivery problem with anything from you guys.

I'd be happy to dialog about my experiences and expectations as a customer.

  Steve,

That is not the norm for 98% of our online orders. If you place an order
over the weekend the Internet orders go out Monday, before any backorders or
mail orders. We have always given Internet orders priority, especially orders
place after hours or over the weekend. The only reason your order may not
have gone out for a day or two would be because we may have been waiting on
a particular part from a vendor to fill your order. I will check your orders
when I get into the office later this morning to make sure we aren't doing
something wrong on our end.

  Thanks for the input

My beef with ChevyDuty is that if you place an order online over the
weekend, they don't ship it till Tuesday or Wednesday, and I don't get it
until Monday or Tuesday of the following week.

I'm half the country away from them, so that day or so the order appears to
sit idle costs me a weekend every time.

But I've generally been happy with the parts I've bought from them.

  > You might try ChevyDuty. The parts that I have got from them so far are
good (of course they are only 1/2 mile from where I work so it is easy just
  > to pick up stuff on my way home!). They also have a nice show room - but
I almost hate going in there since they have so moany nice parts on display
that it makes you want to buy them!.

You're very lucky: I live in Holland, so everything i need has to be flown
in, and takes weeks to arrive ;-(
(but still very pleased with the service from chevy-duty)
