As I understand it, there were a very limited number of 42 trucks
made between model changeover and when war production started after
Pearl Harbor. Two 42 GMC trucks showed up here before production
stopped. One, a wrecker, still is in use.

A very limited number of bare bones civilian trucks were made in
45 with no chrome, stainless, or other critical metal.

Limited production started soon after the War with "46" models that
were essentially 1941 or 42 models.
