Mark,

Placing "value" on something is hard to do. In pure stock form and in like
condition, I think the 1/2 ton would have a slight dollar edge over the 3/4
ton. In street rod form, all bets are off.....the only difference between
the two models is the axles, heavier suspension and frame on the 3/4 ton.
If you rod the 3/4 ton by changing the rear, clipping the front and using
lowering springs or air bags then there really isn't anything left to call
it a 3/4 ton. You now have same amount invested the 1/2 ton guy and who can
tell them apart?. The sheet metal is the same between both models.

If you are buying this truck to tear it apart, modify, repaint etc. You
might be better off to find a truck that is cheaper (i.e.; doesn't have a
new paint job that the owner wants to be compensated for). There are good
trucks available for under 2000$.....that would leave you 3000$ in the
pocket to start making the changes you want. Don't go into this hobby
expecting to make money, it almost never works that way!

Good luck!
