Jim

This is the trouble shooting web page I used when getting my 69 GMC (yes I
69 GMC), fuel gauge operational.

A very good write up and helped me.

Subject: [oletrucks] 58 GMC Gas Gauge Inoperative

Quick question to the group. When I turn the ignition key on the gas
gauge goes past
full. I have checked the sending unit out and it is okay. I can
unplug the wire from the
sending unit to the gauge and the same thing happens. I am
suspecting that the gas
gauge has an internal short in it. Is this correct or is there
another problem?

Thanks to any and all responses.
