That is what I did, although GMC Maintenance Manual says to re-rivet.  Worked
for 8 years of daily driving until I replaced the drums with disks using the
same hubs with longer studs.

Bill, after the drum removal do you just use a new drum and let the six studs
hold it on or do you have to get them re-riveted?
