I don't buy the hood shape idea either. That idea would take a lot of cars off
the road, though.
Have you tried a lower thermostat, or none?
Is the block reasonably clean?
Water pump pumping as it should?
How thick is the core on the aluminum radiator?
Years ago I had a radiator built with a core twice as thick as the original for
a '67 truck and that kept things cool.
