Along with all the other comments, I'll through in my 2
cents.

1. If you use a wire wheel on the grinder, be sure you get
one
of the "knotted" types rated to 10,000 rpm.

2. As someone else said about safety, besure to wear eye
protection. I wear glasses so I'm very lax on eye
safety.
But after grinding and having the wind shift and blow the
filings behind my glasses and into my eye I speek from
experience. You don't want to land in the Doc's office
with him trying to get the junk out of your eyes. No I
always wear a face shield and my glasses.

Also don't pick up a grinder without heavy leather gloves
on.
I can't tell you much skin I lost before I learned my
lesson.
It's supprising how you don't really feel the wire wheel
hit you, but boy you sure know it a while later.

3. Finally, with the talk about the different brands, let me
mention that the Mikata has a metric arbor, and the cheap
Harbor Freight, and other brands have SAE arbors. I own
several of each. I've killed the bearings in 1 Mikata,
and
am working on the 2nd one. But the grinding disks don't
care what the arbor is. Other things like the knotted
wire
brushes do. I've found that I usually pay a little more
for wire brushes with the metric threads.
