Brain Fart

Yup,
 I thought I'd ordered all the parts I'd need to get my front suspension
back together.
Naturally I forgot something. The little pin that locks the lower fulcrum
pin. 
(here comes the question part)
Do I really need THAT part or can that item be substituted with a bolt of
suitable
length and width.
