My 60 Sprite is undergoing a complete original restoration and at the
moment it is the suspension that is being worked on. I am reassembling
all the original parts that came off the car in the first place, only
repainted. The only new parts are the springs and bushings.
I had the lower A-Arms re-bushed and the shocks were rebuilt by
Worldwide. The shocks are even the same as I wanted the same dates to
show on them. The problem si, I installed the lower A-Arms (nuts not
quite tightened yet) and then attached the kingpin and Knuckle to the
lower A-Arm. teh shock has been installed as this is the upper
suspension mount, but when I lift the kingpin trunnion to meet the shock
arm, it overlaps
by an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch. The trunnion is supposed to be behind the
shock arm enough to fit the bushing lip. I can't see what's out of
line. Any ideas?
