I ran my 1275, which is still instlled and running, 185,000 miles before
it needed a valve job.  First time the head was off since its majot
overhaul.  I think the "de coke" advice in the manuals is a result of
older style fuels and motor oils.

BTW, this 1275 has nearly 300,000 on it now.  Head not off since the
valve job.  Really is a tired engine now, but I still use it daily. (Has
a small Datsun 4 speed on it!)
