When we put a 40DCOE on the SP****re, we installed a soft mount kit, What a
waste of time and effort. we wound up breaking off carb studs (drilling them
out at the track is fun) losing nuts (does wonders for your pickup and
mixture) and basically just swearing never to use one again. Keep the
gaskets/spacers and use them, but leave off those cursed spring washers, use
flat washers instead, build a carb stabilization bracket (a la weber
manual)and tighten the Nyloc nuts down. Just my .02
