Oh--As a follow up to his suggestion, he is a police officer. He said he was
driving one of their patrol cars and had just had a fresh oil change. The
oil light came on and he started back to the station, then the "No Oil" light
came on and he pulled over. A rock had flown up and punched a small hole in
the oil filter. You could see a trail of oil in the road which followed his
route. So, coulda been a rock that bounced up and hit the plug.
