Mike,

Right, I believe all glasspack mufflers are straight
through (mine is).  BUT there is fiberglass on the
other side of that screen that absorbs a lot of the
noise.  The only bad thing is that the fiberglass
deteriorates over time and the muffler gets louder. 
(or if you like that run a water hose in there when
its nice and hot)

I can tell you the 'stock' muffler for the single
muffler 1275 setup (that's what I bought) is not loud,
not quiet.  Just right for me (and I'm kinda wimpy
about loud noise).  I'll say that the exhaust note is
a bit "flatulent" though.  I'll bet that the one for
the bugeye is similar (is it a Walker also?).
