Bill,

you have succeeded.  Especially since the rolling the baseball bat trick
does NOT work on a square arch Spridget.  I have tried it.  The
structure is so strong that this doesn't work.
I have cut some of my fender lip away and have pushed the fenders out
slightly with a bottle jack and a 2x4.  I wouldn't do it again.  It's
not worth it.
