Jim,
I didn't expect Ed to give me the shims. Had he sold them to me I would then
be one of his customers and probably come back for more parts sooner or
later. Do we ever have enough parts for these cars? As a merchant Ed buys
the shims/parts at a lower price, sells them at a higher price and makes a
profit, and when his stock starts to run low he makes or orders more.
Simple! Why should Ed care who he sells them to as long as he sells them to
further his business. But it's his business to run as he sees fit and if he
has enough local patronage to keep him going then that's ok by me. I look at
it this way... we all need some kind or release so maybe this list is Ed's,
it's better then him going home and kicking the dog much less the kids or
wife. I'm sure if he had a few beers he'd loosen-up and let his hair down
and become one of the guys, I just hope his hair is the only thing he lets
down.

Gee, I think Ed has a point here. After all this is not just a hobby to him.
I don't know what everybody else does for a living, but I think you could
draw a parallel experience without too much imagination to your own job.
(You bought all your parts from someone else and now you want me to bail you
out?) Just my .02.
