Too complicated....don't be too sure.

Saab is has working prototypes (as in drivable cars) of a new variable
compression ratio engine. The head (including cylinders) and block are hinged
and pivot hydraulically to continuously change the compression ratio from 8:1
to 14:1.

Specs: 1.6 liter supercharged 5 cylinder 20 valve , 225 HP, 224 FtLb Torque, 40
(yes forty) lbs. max boost.

Leave it to Saab...they have had a few innovations (and flops):
- Front wheel drive (how strange! since 1948)
- 2 cycle cars (umm..you want me to add oil to the gas)
- Freewheeling (for economy???)
- Turbocharging (1st passenger turbo in 1978)

MG Innovations:
(umm...maybe the MGA Twin Cam or pre-war Supercharging?)
....

Chris (MG,Saabs Beer or Wine? Different experience, still both great fun). Is
there a Turbo Midget in my future?

To be honest I think it will be cost of brass that will be prohibitive :>
