Frogeye seems to have had the right idea, had to be a badly seated
trottle plate or air leak. Upon investigation, I found the bottom bolts
on the carbs far from being tight. I tightened them, and the carbs
seemed to idle down. After a short trip, it returned to the old "I
won't Idle down state". After several trys at different things, I
noticed that if I covered the inlet to the right carb, it would choke
out, but if I covered the left carb, nothing happened. I assumed at this
point that the left carb must be getting air from somewhere, so out of
despersation I changed out the carb. With nothing else changed, now the
left carb will choke down when covered but the right carb is unaffected.
Exactly opposite for no reason. Any ideas?
