No cunning plans--I have taken a few out. Most of them have been tough, but
doable. I used my Sawzall with a metal blade to cut the kingpin, then a
chisel and BFH to open the cut. Lots of penetrant. Then I took a Grade 8
bolt (at the suggestion of a lister--was that you Steve Byers, who suggested
this to me?), cut the end of it down to the shape of a screwdriver, and just
small enough for a press fit into the slot in the pin. Tapped it in with a
hammer, then used a 1/2" breaker bar on a socket on the bolt. Moved it
slightly back and forth until the bolt was free, then backed it out. The
bolt/breaker bar set up gives you more leverage than you would have with a
screwdriver.
