Bill,
My clutch was just like yours and my fix was new clevis pins. There are two
that wear out and cause too much petal play. Check the one under the cover
at the end of the master cylinders where the petal hooks up and the one at
the slave cylinder push rod. Bleeding won't help if you already have a firm
petal.
