Ryan,  Not on the block the head!!! You can tell a 948 without even opening
the bonnet.  Take a flashlight and look behind the left front wheel,  inside
the triangle cut out section you can read 950 on the block.  As to your
other questions yes all external parts from the 948/1098 will interchange,
intake and exhaust manifolds, and very common the heads.  Many 948's had a
1098 head installed when the original head cracked in the early 60's (bigger
valves don't ya know).
