Re; Austin-Healey National Rally held at Easter 18 - 21 April 2003, Hanmer,
New Zealand

Proposed Timetable;

Friday
3pm - 5pm Registration
5pm - 6pm AGM
6pm - 7pm Meet/Greet each other informally
7pm -       Light meal

Saturday
9am-12pm Concourse/Markets, Swim at the Hot water pools, Golf, Forest walks,
etc
12pm - 1pm Lunch own responsibility
1pm - 4pm Gymkhana
4pm - 7pm Time for relax, repair car or hot pools
7pm -     Social Evening (wine makers evening dinner)

Sunday
9am - 3pm trial (Cheviot/Gore Bay area)
3pm - 6.30pm Relaxing
6.30pm -     Dinner and Prize Giving

Monday
8am - Farewell Breakfast

So far we have Registered, 6 couples from Western Australia some of whom
have expressed an interest in bring their own cars over. At least 2 couples
from USA, both have said they are bring their cars, including a '100S'. All
up 30 couples so far.
We have only space for 10 more couples before we have to use the overflow
motels.


Most registrations have indicated that they wish to partake in the Post
rally Tour and for those that haven't you are most welcome to change your
mind and come with us even on the last day of the rally in Hamner, when we
all head off west.

To help you with the planning of your trip to the beautiful South, a breif
summary of the Post rally tour known at the 'PARTY2003' (Post AGM Rally
Tour, Year 2003) is as follows;

Day one; Monday to Westport via Buller Gorge options 137mls or 158mls
Day two; to Fox Glacier via Punakaiki rocks, Greymouth and Hokitika 185mls
Day three; to Wanaka via The Haast Pass, Lakes Wanaka and Hawea through
Mount Aspiring National Park 165mls

1) Here we split up for those who want to be in Ch-Ch by Friday;

Day four; to Timaru via Omarama and Kurow crossing over the top of the dam,
through Waimate 161mls or Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo to Timaru 184mls
Day five; Friday to Christchurch via Geraldine, Mt Hutt, Darfield 126mls

2) For those who want to travel over the weekend;

Day four; to Dunedin via Cromwell Gorge, Alexandra, Milton 205mls
Day five; to Oamaru via Ranfurly District, Palmerston 201mls or Palmerston
Oamaru Direct 70mls both routs include the Moeraki Boulders
Day six; to Timaru via Omarama, Twizel, the lakes of Pukaki and Tekapo,
Pleasant Point 189mls
Day seven; Sunday to Christchurch via Geraldine and Mt Hutt 126mls

3) For those that wish to carry on to include Queenstown and Milford Sound;

Day one to three; same as Tours 1 & 2
Day four; Thursday 24th, 70 miles to Queenstown, short easy day to rest up
have a look around
Day five; Queenstown to Lake TeAnau 115mls
Day six; TeAnau to Milford sound via Homer Tunnel and return to TeAnau
150mls (or rest day)
Day seven; TeAnau to Dunedin via Gore and Balclutha 186mls
Day eight; Dunedin to Oamaru (as on 7 day tour)
Day nine; Oamaru to Timaru (as on 7 day tour)
Day ten; Wednesday 30th, Timaru to Christchurch (as on 7 day tour)

Can you advise us as to which option you wish to take so we can advise
others as to the numbers etc.

The tour will have details of start points and suggested times each day,
hosts of information for your route, places to visit, sights to look out
for, etc. and a meeting place for each evening. Nothing too organised and
travel in groups or individually. Helplines and phone numbers will be
included in your tour details. Tour participants are to organise all their
accomodation and meals. The overnight stops have been arranged in areas able
to offer a vairiety of accommodation preferences, make your bookings with
your local AA or Travel agent for NZ members, Australian and American
visitors through your travel agents or you could try these contacts if you
want to hit the internet.
