I have another suggestion. Get rid of Windows. That will save you from 
99.99% of all viruses out there.

Get a Mac, or Linux, or another UNIX platform, but throw that freaking 
Windows out the door.

Windows has most of the desktop market, makes it 99% of the targeted 
systems. Just more fun to pick on the monopolist.
