Get a Datsun speedo cable, this fits the tranny.
pull or dremel off the datsun speedo end connector but do not cut the
cable or housing. Remove the stock Sprite speedo end screw on connector
from the stock speedo cable and slip it on the datsun cable. A small
hose clamp will hold it on or if you can, recrimp the end.
Now go to a hobby shop or hardware store and pick up a piece of 1/8"
brass square stock (about $2) it comes in 1 ft lengths and you can find
it in rack with other small metal bars and rods. Cut a piece 5/8" long,
file down the speedo end of the cable just a bit on all 4 sides, slip
the brass square stock over the cable screw it on the original speedometer.
It takes a bit of patience but it makes a Jap speedo cable fit an
English speedometer.
I am running 2 of them.
