Honestly! on a road car, there may be no reason ever to
clean a K&N filter....the only maintenance for non dusty
driving would be to add oil once in a while to make sure it
isn't dry, and that isn't relly needed>  (ok, running for
conver from the guys that will disagree!)  ;-)  but
seriously, the "dirtier it is, teh better it will work
really, talk to your rep and see.

I hae them on all my motorcycles, and only cleen teh
dirt-bikes filters, teh one in teh ducati never needs it! I
have one on each land-rover as well, teh one in teh disco
is actually glued in with sealant.

the thing that you need to remenber is that it will not
prolong teh life of your engine beyond the stock paper,
just lets you have more power from freer breathing...thoe
of us running them really do not worry about the longevity
of the engine....after all nothing that is "performance" is
really "good" for the engine!
