Hi Bill,

There's an offset pin on the end of the tumbler assembly that's fits into
the square locking bar and is easily
broken off when forcing the lock to get a frozen bar to move.  Sounds like
that's what happened to your lock.  On the bright side, the key fits and
turns the lock!!!
