Good point Kate the clutch only gets wear when your foot is on the pedal. The worst thing you can do is sit at a light with the car in gear and the clutch depressed. However in Nevada you will flunk your driving test unless you do this, it is supposed to be safer. Crash your clutch will last a lot longer if you always start it in neutral.
