Are you living in California?  I think regulations there may require use of a 
HPLV system.  My point being: If you use HPLV, then a downdraft booth is not 
needed.  A simple cage fan can be used to pull air out, and quality furnance 
filters for the inlet.  And yes, a fresh air breathing system is required.  
Check out www.axispro.com , we use their system and have been happy so far.
