Thread-topic: First drive!
Played a little hooky from work today to take advantage of the weather
and work on the Midget. Put in the richer carb needles, and she runs
quite nice now. I installed more of the interior panels, with the
exception of the cockpit/boot divider. I also finally took the car for
it's first real spin since I started this whole thing. That made all the
work worth it! A few things I found out:

1. Speedo doesn't work. I can't remember if it ever did, come to think
of it. Time to check the cable connections.

2. The rear end felt a little squirrely. Tire pressures were 24psi all
around. I tightened up the rear shackles and put the tires up to 28psi.
I'll see how that feels.

3. The interior kit panels didn't fit terribly well. It almost seems as
if they were supposed to be installed before the carpets. If that's the
case, oops! :) Now I know for next time.

4. To anyone who wants to add solder to the pins on the hazard switch,
you'll start melting the plastic housing and moving the pins before the
copper gets hot enough for the solder to stick. I ended up disassembling
the hazard switch and cleaning the contacts. Voila, hazards & turn
signals. And my boot light started working now too.

Now I have to wait for my historic plates. Apparently the local DMV
offices don't stock them, so I have to "mail order" them from Trenton.
Who knows how long that will take. Other than that, she's roadworthy!
Not done, but done enough to drive. :)
