I just did mine and I measured the TOTAL endplay.  I bet you're worried that
it seems like a lot of freeplay, I sure was.  Then I looked up the spec for
allowable endplay and it turns out that is a pretty fair amount.  In my case
a new cam retaining plate brought it back to spec.
