Here we f'n go again!!!!!!!<rolling eyes in amazement>

Jay,
As the owner of one of those "Tonka trucks", I assume that you must have
never seen one in action. Seating for 5. Lockable storage in the bed.
Lockable storage on the tops of the bed sides. The midgate can drop down
with or without the rear window in place (which increases the bed length
from a standard 6' to 8' in length. And with the rear window in place, the
midgate folded down and the bed cover in place, that's 8' x 4' x 2' of
weatherproof storage. Oh, and an electronically engaged locking
differential. Makes for a great family hauler/work truck/tow vehicle. Don't
see that kind of adaptability in my (or your) Midget. The only downside is
an average of 15 MPG, but lower emissions than either MG. But you won't
hear my whining about the price of gas, I knew going in what price I would
pay in the wallet.

Bob,
I know you said "generally", but what exactly would my genetic make-up be if
I own one of these "behemoths" and 2 MGs? Actually I drive the Midget more
aggressively than the truck. Avoid the situation by getting away from it as
quickly as possible (kinda like riding a motorcycle). When I drive the Av,
I just more or less cruise, don't tailgate anybody and motor along with my
XM radio blaring away. As for "pushing my way in" and the trait extending
to other portions of my life.....not true except for work. In my profession
you have to be firm and pushy at times. I am a damn good electrician (and
proud of it), and have to deal with other headstrong people on a daily
basis.....comes with the territory. I would be willing to bet, being a
pilot, you think of yourself along the same lines. A "little" ego is a
necessary evil at times.

Sorry if I offend anybody but this struck a nerve and I am sick and tired of
this drivel. Can't we just go back to bashing the guys that are stuck with
Bs and RB Spitfidgets?

Jay Fishbein:
"I could never have imagined that I would see Cadillac and Lincoln trucks,
not to mention full scale Tonka trucks aka the Chevy Avalanche. I thought we
left all hat back in the 70's."

Robert E. Shlafer:
"Sport "Assault" Vehicles (and the people who drive them this way)

VERY generally speaking....it's in the personality makeup of the
driver/owner who is attracted to this type of vehicle.

"Larger" and "higher" gives them a (false) sense of "power" so they tend to
"push" their way in this respect (and you can bet this "trait" extends to
other portions of their lives as well..except when they come up against
their bosses, inclusive of spouses, probably!!:).

At the same time, such personalities (when they exist behind the wheel) are
trademarks of the "less than secure" who also prefer "large" vehicles
wherein the sitting position (in height) is "superior"
to those surrounding, relatively speaking. (Though this positon DOES come
in rather handily when operating in less than dry conditions, in terms of
"looking out ahead").

Me??? I let 'em by...all the time. And most assuredly so if I spot a cell
phone "back there". You just know Mr/Ms all-important ("I must remain in
touch at all times") is gonna be way behind in reaction time if and when the
proverbial sh#t hits the fan, as it definitely will do from time to time!!
:):)"
