OK, thanks for pointing that out Bob. I didn't see any leakage, but this car
is SUCH a basket case, or was when I bought it that "who knows" what'll
happen. Right now I have $1.10 invested in a bottle of 30w oil, so if it
lasts lets say a year until I can get it roadworthy, then starts to drip, I
can peel them off and have Dr Peter work his magic.

Just advising that you can expect factory
shocks to weep oil and that having to fill
them every now and then is completely
normal and does NOT mean they need
replacing at all!
IOW....l'm on YOUR side!! I understand
your budget concerns.
As long as you don't wait too long
between topping ups as
otherwise, air replaces the fluid within
certain internal chambers and the shock
must come off the car to be completely
"bled" of this air before the shock will be
"restored" to it's normal firmness, once
refilled.
Once the shock cannot be "restored" in the
foregoing manner, you know it's shot but
by this time, this becomes apparent as the seals by that time usually won't
hold even a relatively heavy 30wt oil.
