Look for signs of gas leaking out of the sending unit.
It will work it's way down the front or rear of the tank.

Carb floats stuck, this will pump gas back thru the charcoal canister 
and into the tank. Pull off the overflow hoses on the carbs and check 
for gas pumping out.
