Well, Gee Whiz! If the word official is too officious, and the event itself
is under scrutiny from other ones with a similar name, how about calling it
the Greatest Gathering of the 60th Anniversary of the Morris Minor, with other
offspring welcome. Put that name as an overlay on the poster to hide the mud
on some cars! Heaven forbid we should have fun with these cars and drive
them! We all know the origin of the term MG, so why not back up a bit to the
earlier ones? Sprites would also be welcome, even if they showed up some 40
plus years later than the Morris Minor and MG Midgets! (Ducking for cover,
and running away full speed!)

While some can debate on the wording of the poster, the word "The" is not
being used in conjunction with the word "Official".
While on the subject I would like to call your attention to the fact that
there will be another 50th anniversary celebration for the Austin-Healey
Sprite which has a historical background.
This meet can lay claim to being "The Original", "The One and Only", "The
real Deal", as well as, "The Official" Sprite celebration.
While a firm date and location is still being worked on, it will be held in
May of 2008 close to the introduction date of the Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite
in south central Pennsylvania. For more information on this meet please go to

All British car owners are welcome to attend join in on the festivities.
Everyone interested in this meet is invited to join the group and as more
