David,
Somewhere, I seem to remember that I have one or two used ones lying
around, so, maybe I'll sacrifice one of them in an effort to determine
if one can successfully be taken apart, reconditioned and reassembled.
I think I remember seeing that the earlier ones (for the 1098 & early
1275) are still available. Although they are for positive ground
systems, that shouldn't matter since all they do is complete a circuit
by connecting positive to positive (or neg to neg) and allow the
positive/negative current to pass on to the starter. I wonder what
other differences there are? Hmmm. I think I've got a couple of those
lying around, too.
Any thoughts, David, guys?
One thing for sure is I don't want to replace it with one that doesn't
incorporate a "remote" starter button, because they sure do come in
handy for checking/adjusting dwell angle and valve adjustment.

Thanks.
Bud Osbourne

1. Probably not.
2. The button between the posts is no longer there (darn!) and there are
a
couple of additional connections that you can ignore. They are there so
that
the solenoid can bypass the external ballast while cranking.

It will work fine for you as long as you can figure out which
connections to
ignore ;-)
